An afternoon in Paris

This morning we left a little early, only to spend the afternoon before soundcheck wandering around the streets of Paris. It was a typical Sunday afternoon, the streets were bustling with merchants, lots of French restaurants, and there were plenty of talented artists working the beat. Eleven pictures to follow, please be patient while they load.

Some history of Montmartre area of Paris: Some history of Paris

On November 12th, 1789 the National assembly decreed the creation of a municipality in each city. The community of Montmartre started in March of 1790, however not without difficulty: in fact, the construction of a wall divided the city in two. The high side of Montmartre elected the proper council which was presided over by a daring participant of the seperation until the 22nd of June, 1790 when the municipality of Paris absorbed it into the lower Montmartre. Born in Rouen, Felix Desportes resides in Tertre since 1788.
