Snapshots From The Road:

Update: June 26th, 1999:

14 pictures from the 'Drag & Rock Fest'
Virtasalmi, Finland
(Download time approx. 4 min at 56K)

On this particular morning, we departed our hotel in Helsinki and traveled approximately 350 kilometers North to the small village of Virtasalmi, Finland. Since forests make up more than half the surface of the country, the scenery along the way featured many wooded areas filled with fir, pine, and an abundance of birch trees. We also saw several 'Elk Crossing' signs, and even though we didn't see any live Elk first hand, we were told that there are over 300,000 of them running wild across central and northern Finland...which makes for quite a hunting season each year. Today's festival was dubbed 'Drag & Rock' and featured drag races by day, and rock bands by night. After you finish viewing this page, you can check out pictures from our arrival day
here.

14 pictures to follow, please be patient while they load.
